Brad,

I've heard that 1.6L Miatas will go to CS next year, but AFAIK that is an
unconfirmed rumor.

If it is indeed true, you'll still have to fight the NA MR2 which seems to
do well in that class. the MR2 has a little more torque, but also carries
a little more weight. 93 and under Miatas are challenged with 5.5" width
rims, and I'm not sure if any were available with a Torsen rear until the
94+ R. Get a base with as few options (no AC/PS) as possible to save
weight. Unless you plan to drive it to events in 100 degree heat, the do
get one with AC!!!

Other than that, slap a little stiffer bar on the front, get a competitive
alignment, and some good tires, ditch the muffler and you're good to go.
