It can be a body weakness. The MR2 is not designed for the stress being
induced by the use of the fatter fron swaybar. A few different problem
can occur.

1. You can bend your endlink. No biggie and you can replace it with a
93+ endlink that is beefier. This has happened to me.
2. You can rip the endlink mounting bracket off the strut housing. You
can weld this back up and reinforce it, but your day is done. I think
this happened to Rich Fletcher (?).
3. The U Bracket connected to the body rips off, tearing out the nut
also. This is probably the most common failure mode. Yes, it's not good.
Andy McKee had this happen at the San Bernardino Pro a few months ago.

Carrying an extra bracket probably won't help much. The good news for
you is that if you run a 93+ MR2, you have the beefier front end links,
AND you are probably running a less stuff front bar.
