Before you start a letter writing campaign, answer this:

Who was driving the Cougar (i.e. did Rick McDaniels show up in a new car?)

What kind of competition was there.  Did the Cougar "walk away" from a 
collection of Yugo's and Hyundai's or were there some nationally competitive 
Celica ST's there?

I think that the 4 Cyl Cougar belongs in HS.  It is not that much different 
from the Contours.  As far as ES having the "sporty" 4 cyl cars, you haven't 
been reading your Fastrack.  A whole bunch of ES cars are headed for HS in 
Y2K.
