Was just browsing the American LeMans website and came across an item on
the tryouts for the new Women's Global GT Series held just this past week.
Saw a few familiar names on it from the Solo II Nationals:
Linda Pobst
Jean Kinser
Shauna Marinus
Belinda Endress
Polly Mitchell
Whitney Van Tassel
Marty Walter
Now ... what was that about who makes the better driver, autocrosser or road
racer? Not that this answers that question (don't know yet how they all did),
but at the very least, our distaff pylon dodgers are right there in the thick
if it alongside women who have raced everything from Formula One (Divina
Galica) to NASCAR Trucks (Tammy Jo Kirk).
There were 68 women in all. "Our gals" comprise 10% of that number.
