I've had a Crane unit in my car for some time and have found it extremely
reliable. The unit was simple to install, dead reliable and virtually no
maintenance.
One advantage is that with an older distributor, where the shaft bearings are
worn, there is no variation in timing with the optical trigger units.
One disadvantage I've found is the lack of a rev limiter, but I have installed
an adjustable shift light to the top of the front roll hoop which keeps it in
plain sight.
