If there is any SAOCA, TEAE members in this gentleman's area, he would
appriciate someone giving his car a look.
I don't understand how a bodyshop could miss what sounds like a major rust
problem. But not seeing the car, I can't really say.

I am on in New York, Long Island, Suffolk county. If necessary i can Uhaul
it to wherever it could be looked at by someone who knows what they are
looking at!!
Along the same lines, I went to jack up the car, slid the Alpine jack into
the front frame hole designed to accept the jack and the extension of the
frame in which the jack was sitting, bent and broke (the frame extension ,
not the jack), the steel could not support the weight. I just hope that
there is enough good steel to maintain the integrity of the frame!

At this point I would appreciate any help i could get!

 Thanx for the fast response,
Phil

  Phil,
I hate to give you the bad news but..........Sounds like someone "covered"
some major issues under the Rocker Panels. The outer give SOME strength but
the inner panel is where MOST of the strength comes from.
Where are you located? Maybe someone from the SAOCA can take a looksee at
it.
