Series 5 Axle splines - count 'em

How many splines are on the series 5 axle?  I need to
know so I can purchase the right differential. 
Apparently the older Alpines have a different axle.
I can't wait to try and pull the existing axles out
after reading about the trials and tribulations on
this list for that past 8 years or so.... has it
really been around that long?
