Many thanks for the many responses on how to remove a recalcitrant steering
wheel. I finally used Jim Leaches suggestion of drilling two holes through
the boss, inserting bolts and attaching a puller. After ten impatient
minutes, the wheel "popped" and slid of easily with no damage to the wheel
or mechanism. Jim gets an "Atta Boy Award"!
