Well, yes and no. The install on the soft top boot can be done, as it is glued
and secured by those little sharp punched holes (like small can opener holes)
against the body. It is a good idea to bend those out straight, then lay down
the contact cement. After pushing those through the cover material, bend them
back down a little to secure the cover.
Now, before you put the waist roll on, you will need those elastic straps as
they are pop-riveted on, sandwiched between the body and a small square piece
of metal. Kind of like a square washer with two rivet holes in it. This gives
the pop-rivets something else to grab besides the rubber.
Once you install the waist roll, you will not be able to get to those rivets.
I suggest you wait because you will want to glue the roll also, in addition to
the flat hooks that secure it to the body.
Another note: If you buy the straps from Martha, there is more strap than you
need. Be sure you rivet them short enough so you can stretch them to hook them
in place against the body or hard-top.
And to top it all off...
You know you can't install the waist roll without taking off the small triangle
shaped door pieces as the top of the roll goes "under" this piece.
Hope this all helps. These little beams are really not easy to upolster and
things must be done in the right order to obtain a very "stock" look.
