THere are two straps that connect to thos pegs to hold it up when the top is in
the up position.

I have a soft boot that covers the top of the trunk to the top ledge of
the back seat. It has the two zippers and understand how it works but
this piece has two pegs on it at the widest part between the hinges. It
goes to the upholsterer today for install but we do not know what the
two pegs are for, either for hard top use or soft top use, or a mistake.
