A useable V6?

With all this talk about $250 dollar V6 engines, I'm anxious to get
moving on my conversion project.  I have the car - a '67 Series V - and
Joe Rodriguez's kit.  Now I need an engine, trans, etc.  I've come up
empty-handed here in N. California, and a friend is having similar
troubles in SoCal.  Short of a "midnight requisition" at the used Ford
sales lot, does anyone have suggestions as to where I might find a
useable
2.8 L engine and a BW T54 trans?  Thanks!
