Susan,

Don't go overboard on the radio/CD player if you are still using the original 
Lucas generator.  There are sound systems on the market today that require more 
power then that 1962 vintage generator can produce!

Sure, switch to neg ground!

Seriously, you can get a positive ground system from a supplier that
specializes in classic cars.  Check Hemmings under Services/Radios.
