I would never use a cordless drill with a tap. Taps are VERY hard, and will
cross thread and cut into the captive nuts easily, ruining them. You're
also running the risk of breaking the (brittle) tap off in the nut.
This is something that should be done manually with a tap handle, backing
the tap out out a 1/4 turn occasionally to be sure there's nothing
interfering with the threads.
