Another reason for dumping it was that if you were foolish enough to put
your bag of groceries in the passenger seat (where else would you put it in
a TR6?)

What are you talking about? Back when my six was my daily driver I used
to be able to squeeze 6 bags of groceries behind the seats! I could even
get 4 more in the passenger foot well (or three cases of cereal malt
beverages!)
