I had a long email discussion with Joe Bowtie Grant about bullet door mirrors
a while back and I think we concluded that the Talbot mirrors were the bees
knees as far as quality, form and function were concerned although a bit
pricey. Short of a stick-on convex mirror (which is what I currently have on
the passenger side) these were the only bullet mirrors that we found that came
with a convex glass option.

Around that time Dick Taylor said he had managed to re-cut an off the shelf
convex mirror into a suitable size for the bullets (typically 4 inches) but I
don't know that he ever revealed the secret of that technique.

Hi Dave,
Convex works fine on the passenger door. Modern cars have this setup now.
Non-convex on passenger door is useless especially if it is mounted to match
driver door mounted mirror.
http://www.alfacybersite.com/ACSTalbo.html I don't know how these mirrors
mount, the old one I have is bolted from the bottom.
A PO of my car put a slightly convex mirror on drivers door (none on pass
door), I could not get used to it.
I moved the convex mirror to pass door only because it is a period correct
mirror and put a new flat mirror on drivers door.
If it were more convex it would be better but it does help.
Regards,
Bob

the models that bolt-in from underneath to the surface mount screw-in
version I presently have. The new ones are the classic bullet-shaped mirrors
and they are available in either flat glass or convex. Has anyone used
convex side mirrors? Are they OK or do they actually make the driving more
difficult? Preferences, anyone?
