Some suggest using a regulator to keep the fuel line pressure below 3 psi for
even a conventional diaphram fuel pump.

James---The ad men that work for the Grose Jet Co. claim that a
revolving ball and seat will give longer service than the tapered pin
type needle valve. Could be.
I've used the Grose setup for 27 years and haven't had a leakage problem
yet. The only issue arises when trying to run with more than 3 lb. of
fuel pressure, which at times seems to be too much for the float to shut
off fuel flow.

A piece of debris can cause either style of shutoff to stay open and
flood the bowl. This shows up more at idle speed, when supply is greater
than demand. It's more a matter of keeping good filters ahead of the
needle valve.

i was having horrible carb flooding (probably from the junk coming up
through the lines from
the gas tank and slipping past the fuel filter and fuel pump.) does one
needle valve clog more than antoher?
thanks.
