Some like to file a flat on the pins, I have always installed them the 
way they came out of the package. The belief is by filing a flat you 
give the fork a more stable contact surface but I think if you file 
unevenly you can create a slight torqueing to the fork/bearing carrier. 
The usage of the clutch will bring a natural seating to the fork pins. 
The Bentley manual mentions nothing about preparing the fork pin either
