I had convinced myself that something terrible was happening as I was
hearing some strange mechanical noise while idling. Surely a bad water
pump, or maybe the main bearings going (the imagination of an LBC owner
at work!). It turns out it is just my brake servo non-return valve. I
took the valve out and the small piece inside is loose - is this
normal? I'm not sure if I lost a spring somewhere... The valve seems to
function fine.
