Cliff,

The stock early cam has a base circle of approx. 1.085" dia. and a lift
of .215". The late cam has a base circle of approx 1.115" and a lift of
.242". The later cams have three small grooves front of the locating
plate groove. Whether it can be ground a second time depends on how much
base circle you have left, what profile you are girnding it to and how
small you will allow the base circle to be. As the base circle gets
smaller so does every radius in the profile. Grinding to a smaller base
circle that the profile was designed for can result in sharp point(s) on
the lobe. Not that the lobe will look square or come to an actual point
but there can be spots where the radius will approach or reach zero or
even go negative. It may be barely visable but it will cause premature
wear.
