6000 rpm at the engine would be 2078 rpm at the rear wheels. With a 22 in
dia tire, this would be 136 mph.

Hi Bob,

Installing new carrier and pinion bearings in my Diff., I counted teeth
and it is a 3.7. I was hoping it was a 3.28, didn't they put 3.28's in the
non-OD cars?
Do you know how to figure top speed? 6,000 rpm ( assuming the car at
1500 lbs. has the power to weight ratio to go 6,000 in OD ) 6,000 rpm, .78
OD in fifth, 3.7 Diff, and 22 inch diameter tires.
I put it to the list as this seems like a fun distraction.
Steve
