hood (bonnet) adjustment

I need to move my hood (bonnet) to the left slightly. The gap on the right
is non existent, and the gap on the left is too large. It seems that none of
the brackets have slots in the left right direction. Do I have to shim the
brackets or is there enough play in the mounting holes to move it over?
