Mr. Famly Wrench---You already know the drill in getting crisper
handling. It's basically the same for the TR6. Start with a set of the
semi-comp springs from The Roadster Factory. They're rated as 20%
stiffer, and I can attest that the ride is decent.
Add some urethane bushings to the front and rear suspension points.
Lose the RedLine tires, or anything with the 80 profile. Get into 70
series, or shorter sidewall. (You'll give up some accuracy in speedo
readings if you get too short, like below the 70 series.) 205X70 is the
tire of choice here, in a performance tire. Not the hard, touring tire
if possible.

Make a (5/8") rear anti-roll bar, as illustrated in the "Competition
Prep Manual" for the TR6. This book is available from TRF, and loaded
with good info on other performance ugrades. OR, purchase an upgraded
set of anti-roll bars from a company such as Addco.

Konis are my choice in shocks for the front, as they last forever, and
can be adjusted for the firmness you want. The rear levers can also be
tweaked for firmness.

Now, you won't be following any Lotus Seven into corners at 10/10ths,
but the above mods will transfom the car. And you shouldn't lose any
teeth fillings in the process.

These cars are easy to work on, and you should enjoy the results!

Dick
