Hi,
I usualy get out "pesky" oil canister gaskets by using a sharp hobby knife
(with a #5 blade) and "stabbing" the old gasket at an angle. It works
everytime. THe only drawback is that it renders the old gasket totally
useless.

p.s. I usually have a "stash" of three or four gaskets in the garage,
"just in case".
