Hi Listers,

A quick newby question. I've been having some problems with my choke ('69
TR6). When I'm starting the car cold, with the choke pulled out, my fast
idle is much slower than normal and I get a lot of smoke out of the
exhaust. I'm assuming that this is either 1) sticking throttle cable or 2)
fast idle adjustment. I've tried to lube the cable and adjust the idle but
I still get the problem, intermittantly. Do I need to replace the cable? Or
am I missing something obvious? Once the car is warmed up it runs fine. Is
there some connection between the idle and the vacuum advance that I'm
overlooking?

Thanks for any advice,
Grant Kester
