I have my roll bar installed on the shelf as well. However I put some large
plates on the underside of the shelf to spread out the load and give more
stability. In the event of rolling the bar would collapse the shelf but it
will only go down about 1" before hitting the rear spring support bar of the
frame. So short of being completely ripped out as she rolls, the bar should
transfer the weight of the car to the frame. I am working on a method of
holding the bar upright so that if the car is sliding when inverted the
torque won't pull it out.
