It's a British car. It's supposed to leak. That's how you know when to
fill it up with oil... when the leaking stops.
:-)
If the oil is leaking from the pinion, you can put some non-hardening
gasket dressing on the splines when you reassemble the unit.
Also note that if you have a leather pinion seal, it might need a few days
to swell and seal better.
