Hi,
It's been quite a weekend!! petrol pouring all through the boot because of
pump seals and ruptured high pressure pipes was just the start!! After 8
tries at starting the motor it fired and I went out for a test-drive, when I
got back I went to get the vacuum gauge out of the tool box in the boot and
there was petrol everywhere!!
After I got the pump and pipes leak-free I tried the vacuum, it was going up
to 20Hg a lot more than the 12 it should be around, and then I noticed the
pipes from the inlet chamber to manifold starting to collapse inwards!! So
now I'll have to look for some new pipe that'll take the high vacuum. I
don't think even new originals would work.
The short drive I had showed what a real change the new throttle body has
made. The pick-up in the gears is so smooth and even and the low speed
hesitation is completely gone.
One really great mod for a PI
Regards
Dave W
