When I removed the old cast manifold to fit a tubular exhaust, I realized once more, that the dpo had closed off the pipe that is coming out of the water pump and goes to the rear of the engine. Now

That pipe is actually a return route for water coming from the heater. Therefore, if the dpo routed the heater return so that the heater actually works, you may as well leave it the way it is. Joe C

That pipe also seaves as the water pump bypass....so unless he found a way to bypass the bypass i would look into finding a new pipe. aaron
