I read in the newspaper about a guy who had ruined his differential because he put on a wheel with a smaller rim on the drive axle. It didn't say how it got ruined, mostly dealing with who should eat

Even with an open diff running different diameter tires for long will burn up the diff. The part of the diff that only turns when you go around corners will be turning all the time. It has no bearing
