- Do the engine block numbers mean anything? Can you trace date of manufacture or if it was a SU vs Solex engine? Dana S

- Unfortunately, no. While the engine numbers did generally increase over time, they weren't really consistent, nor was anything recorded. So you will find cars that are "near" each other in VIN number

- One problem was that the solex setup could be added as a dealer option. New tag and all. So factory records would still not be accurate. Of course that brings up the question, original as it left the
