I found a stack of Yoko A008R tires in a local tire store on sale and in my size. They are not the RS track tire, nor the RS II autocross tire--just labeled A0089. Can anyone tell me about this tire.

my Before the A008RSII...before the A008RS...there was the A008R. If I remember correctly, this was one of the first (if not *the* first) R-comppund street tires, using the same tread as the "street

Yeah, these are probably pretty old, check the DOT build code. Should be pretty darned cheap. But they weren't the first -- the A001R came first, I believe. Josh

The Phoenix was a "real" street type tire and compound and was not as good as the Michelin XWX which preceeded it. How do I know you ask? I ran the XWX's on my 260Z but had to switch to the Phoenix's
