Can anyone identify these wheels on my 1600?. They're split two piece items with an alloy mesh and a steel rim. I've had the car over 3 years now and it was only when I was sandblasting the old pain

Those look like the early American Racing wheels that some dealers sold as optional wheels. They had a steel rim and an aluminum center riveted to the rim. There were two reported problems with them:

A third problem with these wheels - if the Chrome part needs replating - you either must seperate the two pieces and then have them rewelded or paint the entire wheel(which really looks pretty good)

I have been told that these wheels could be powder coated or ceramic coated (ie. "Jet Hot" brand) A local shop quoted me $75 per wheel for the ceramic coating. Sid __________________________________
