- In fact UK Fords were the same layout for the valves (i.e ex,in,in,ex.ex.,in,in,ex) and so the same rule applies. I think it was the Hillman Avenger that upset the applecart and changed the layout of

- You're right about the French, but then they had everything backwards. The Renault R4, for example had the gearbox out front, and the timing gear against the bulkhead. Julian.
