I need to have a wheel alignment done on my 71 TR6 after replacing the steering rack. My local alignment guy said he would do it, but he would need the specifications as they are not in his computer

EricThe Bentley manual will have all the specs needed. This is what is listed under "General Specifications Data" for USA market page 45: Wheel Alignment: Front 0 to 1/16" toe in Rear 0 to 1/16" toe

Don't forget to remind your alignment guy that the rear measurements are to be taken with the car loaded. He should know that, but I've seen many that don't. Randall

Typically measured from the tread surface. But make it easy on yourself - get them to set zero toe-in. That will make the care a bit more twitchy/nimble depending on your point of view. /// triumphs

It is remotely possible that the rear camber is part of the problem, but, my Spit has a more negative camber than this and goes straight down the road. (Both front and rear). Have you checked some of

If the steering wheel's pulling to one side going down the road you may have a caster problem. From what I know the front caster is used to provide the wheel centering torque. If they are imbalanced

To answer your last question, yes it is a problem. The front is especially alarming, as I'm not sure there is any range to take that out. Spec. is 1/4 deg. neg.+/- 1/2 deg. Look for a lot of spacers

Another thing worth checking (as well ask brakes etc) is the front wheel bearings, I couldn't find the problem on my Spitfire until after a general check-up I had the front wheel bearings replaced -
