I guess I wasn't clear but that's exactly what I want to do....reduce the exhaust smoke as a result of worn valve guides without pulling the head. Its a temporary fix I'll grant you but one I'm choo

Nick--Are you running single valve springs? I was told if you have double springs that the tip of each guide needs to be machined down to accept the seal and not foul the spring. Am I wrong here? Ric
