I'm rebuilding a spare pair of H6 carbs as well. I have them disassembled and I'm cleaning everything right now (and waiting on parts). I seem to recall that the initial mixture setting should be 12

I honestly don't recall, it's so irrelevant that I just don't worry about it. You'll start the engine on the choke anyway, and if the mixture is so lean the engine won't run, you can keep it running

Speaking of SU's, should it take the strength of two people to pull the choke cable out? I bought the original choke cable and rebuilt the jets and they operate easy but when everything is hooked up

Mine was harder to pull before the rebuild. One of the listers suggested that I pull out the jet after the rebuild and polish it (I used very fine steel wool) and then slide it back in. This seemed

No. I use two fingers on the knob and prop a third against the dash, then a twist of the wrist pulls it out. Did you grease the inner cable ? Is it stranded and in good shape ? The true originals we

It sounds to me like you have the cable in backwards, on my TR3 the flexible end is attached to the choke lever (or maybe mine is backwards <G>) I am pretty sure you will get a definitive answer soon

This is the correct hook-up for the choke linkage, notice the front u-joint yoke goes on the outside of the choke lever and not between it, this is why your choke is hard to engage/pull, if you print
