I had this same problem some 25 years ago and the only solution I found was to drill out the wires using a smaller tube as a drill with teeth ground into the end . Perhaps not a "technically correct

I had the same problem. Luckily we have some fairly large tempering furmaces where I work. So I "baked" the tube at 800 degrees F for about an hour. You could probably get hte same results with a pro
