Greetings to the Triumph List, I have a question about the 10" brake shoes on a 1959 TR3. I am replacing the rear brakes on my car because the lining on the shoes was contaminated from leaking wheel

Dave : Although my TR3A has 9" rear brakes (courtesy of a PO), I have had rear brake shoes relined several times. Got the ones for the Sports 6 relined last year, I think the charge was under $40. T

I had mine relined 4 years ago by a Triumph guy, Ted Schumacher at TSI (800-543-6648). Kevlar linings were used, and I think the cost was around $50. I'm very pleased with the results. -- Mark Macy

Get them done at the shop and using the money saved for other parts! Any decent shop will know which lining to use. The thickness needed is 3/16". They will either be glued or riveted. Mine were att
