I have a GT6 3.27:1 differential that's untested, but they're not known as all that robust in the first place. I also have a couple Spitfire 3.89:1 differentials that have the later, larger flanges (

All the GT6 and MkIV/1500 Spitfire diffs have common parts for the most part. The big exception is the 3.27 which had such a large crown gear that the offset is different. I think that requires the

Thanks for the quick response, Joe. First, do you know the pinion gear tooth count for the 3.27 and 3.89? If the pinion gears are the same, the 3.89 crown/ring gear would be BIGGER (in diameter) than

In a 3.27 pumpkin, the main carrier unique to that ring gear. It's also the 'fragile' part of which you speak. With the diameter of the ring gear required the carriers structure to be very thin in c

** No... unless you replace the entire ring gear and carrier as a unit (as well as the pinion gear) which you really have to don anyway, since they are not only a matched set, but they have a differ

Nope, All my research done many years ago, as well as practical applications (my own swaps) is that the cases (large pinion bearing) are all the same etc. There are of course differences in the numbe

I'll take your word for it. My only experience with the 3.27 was in trying to find a LSD for one and coming up empty. I ended up trying that POS Phantom Grip in it and discovering that it didn't work
