- Brian, I used an aqueous (water-mix) concentrate made by Hurri-Safe and sold by Northern Hydraulic (where I got my parts washer). It does not cut grease as well as Varsol or Kerosene and it loosened

- Probably the same made by chinease prison labor unit I got from Harbor Freight. Paint bubbled off the metal about 1.3728 seconds after contact with a Citrus-based solvent, causing the pump to fail. O

- I use mineral spirits (aka paint thinner) in my parts washer. Costs about $2-2.50 a gallon. It will remove just about any gunk except carbon. One of the nicest things about it is it dries on it's own

- I recommend for heavy grease that you don't wash the part in the part washer prior to a good degreasing with some purple stuff by castrol or any one of the other degreasers on the market. Two reasons

- An alternative is simple mineral spirits it cuts grease but may damage paint. I use kerosene. Great for starting your brush pile fire when really gunked up. Too environmentally unfriendly? --
