- On my headers, I used WD-40. Put on a nice thick coat and run it. It smokes for a minute or so. Repeat as many times as you can stand. It winds up looking pretty nice, a kind of gun-metal gray. Dave

- Hmmm, the nickel plated manifolds I saw were on the car for a few years and they looked fine. The car is used regularly and also raced a few times a year. He had them done at a local plating shop. M

- I used a paint designed for cast iron stoves. It went on as flat black and after a few weeks changed to flat dark grey. It has stayed on and is certainly better than the rust color. This is on a '37
