I just got my generator back from the local rebuilder. Before, I could put a 12v. battery across the two terminals on the end of the case and the generator would motor. Now nothing happens when I do

Why would you want to do that? Its not a starter. Just install it, hook it up, and see if it's charging the system. Mark

Oh tae, Just never heard of testing a generator this way since its drive is normaly taken from the driven belt and not actually driven electrically. Hate to screw it up an have to do it all over agai
