Not in my experience, with the sole exception of tanks that are designed to deliver liquid instead of vapor. I doubt that's your issue though. The mix does vary with season in some places, but since

When I did my EMT training they taught us to crack the valve once before hooking an Oxygen bottle up to anything to blow the junk out out of the valve from filling. I don't do it on my Propane tank,
