Yeah, the "flaming drill of Death" syndrome. 1/4" and light-duty 3/8" drills really aren't designed for full load for more than a few seconds. You can prime in short bursts until the drill gets hot;

Gee, I'd at least pop off the pump cover and recheck the axial and radial clearances, expecially if you put in one of those pump elongators. Is it notchy if you turn it by hand? My experience is that

Hi folks. I've primed my rebuilt engine by running the oilpump with a mains drill prior to 1st startup. There's plenty of oil being pumped (to the rockers etc) but i'm really worried about the amount

What kind of electric drill are you using? Is it a 1/4", 3/8", or a 1/2". How many RPM's does the drill turn? I have used a 1/2" 600 RPM drill motor and it did not appear to be loaded much. I think
