Maybe I am wrong but I have always summed up rear main leaks as "oil is cheap" When you need to do something requiring pulling the lump deal with it then (so long as it is not affecting clutch action

If anyone mentions that your car is leaking oil, just pull yourself up, and in an authoritative voice, tell the person that MGs do not leak oil, it is just marking it's marking it's territory! :-) Ch

That's a 'normal' motor oil leak. The hole is to drain the motor oil that leaks into the clutch housing. The cotter pin is supposed to bounce around and keep the hole from plugging up. A teaspoon or
