I'd check the seal seat where the filter meets the machined surface of the engine. I have found old seals on occasion to stick there, unnoticed when changing the filter. This can cause leakage. Also,

James , I just read in an old "TR Action" that some filter threads are 3/4" (roughly 19 mm ) and others are 20 mm .A 20 mm filter will screw onto a 3/4" filter head , but will soon get loose and leak
