3 weekends later and we have everything pretty much put together. The "new" engine is installed in the '64, transmission is in place. PO did a horrid rewiring job so it's a total mess under the hood.

You could do what I just did, look at the starter, make sure that the wiring there is good. Check the battery while you are at it. The two times my electrical system went dead were a blown ammeter an

Check to see if you have brake lights. If nothing but the brake lights work, I'll bet you fried the Ameter. Kind of like a big expensive fuse in Datsun Roadsters. Mike Harper Charleston SC Yahoo! Fin

Did you check the ammeter? If it shorted the car will never start again. Since the PO botched the wiring did you double check that all the connections are correct by, if need be, unraveling the harne
