Has anyone on the list either built their own engine dynomometer or have any information on doing it? -- uncle jack TR4 - 10 mpg TR6 - 30 mpg (diligently engineering my way to the back of the pack)

Should be fairly easy to build a load cell : start with a 55 gal drum, the kind where one of the heads seals on with a band clamp. Get a length of shaft (1" dia would probably work, 1.5" would allow

How about repeatability? If you make two runs in a row on the same day in the same weather condx, etc, how close do the two runs compare? Kim

Unfortunately, I have only made a couple of runs with good recording hardware. I made three runs that way, and they were quite close. Can't remember how close, though. Sorry it wasn't more scientific
