After recently completing this repair I can tell you the fix can be done well with the body on. With the rear out there's ample room to do the repair. You need to make the repair plates described in

I just had diff mount reinforcements welded in to fix a broken RF mount. The "U" bracket was cracked completely across with the pin was loose at the top as well. The TRF kit (and the others I imagin

Brian--It is simple enough to replace the rear cover gasket. I would do this last, as you may want to remove the pinion gear to have better access when changing the front pinion seal. Not esp. diffic
