Thanks, I actually found something at good old McMaster Carr, called coupling nuts. Only grade five but the increased thread area should more than make up for it - and wheel nuts, which are recommend

Anybody know if the cylinder head nuts for the Spitfire are 3/8 thick 3/3-24 hex nuts - I hate to pay almost $2.00 for a head nut if I can get a whole box of grade 8 hex nuts from McMaster Carr that
